"I-bat i-hin-nin" II = Grandfather Thunder II
Monolithic Axe#2: Inspired by ancient Caddoan (Spiro) axe shown in "Hero, Hawk & Open Hand". This was completely redone after Tornado damage, adding engraving inspired by ancient Pre-Columbian Spiro Mound Shell engravings of a warrior head with the Peregrine Falcon Forked Eye on the axe head, & handle engraving from another shell engraving which is also similar to the ancient Caddo Pottery Avery Engraved design shown in "Handbook of Texas Archeology: Type Descriptions".
Materials: Alabaster stone (mocha)
Technique: Rough stone hand cut, shaped, sanded & polished with hand saws, rasps, files & sandpaper. Engraving with non-electric steel-tipped rod
