Where Has Your Flag Flown?

- It has proudly flown from the capital of Cherokee Nation to Afghanistan. The "Where Has Your Flag Flown?" exhibit allows visitors to learn about the history of the modern flag of Cherokee Nation and highlights the elements of symbolism that are represented within it. Visitors will also learn about previous Cherokee Nation flags that have been used throughout history.
Personal stories and images will showcase how the modern flag has traveled the world alongside Cherokee Nation citizens representing their proud heritage. In the children’s area of the exhibit, kids will get the chance to draw and create their own flag!
The exhibit runs from June 14 to Jan. 31, 2020, and is housed in the oldest government building still standing in Oklahoma, the Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum. The museum covers the history of the Cherokee judicial system, the Cherokee written language and the evolution of Cherokee journalism.
The Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
